How To: Make a Chocolate Cake, Called Taraba?

Make a Chocolate Cake, Called Taraba?

Hi! All the cake lovers, welcome to my first post in the World of Dessert Recipes. I would like to contribute a recipe for the chocolate cake, called Taraba. The original recipe was made in Bosnia.

It is one of my favorite cakes, very sweet, but does not contain fruit.

People who suffer from diabetes should not eat it. And all the chocolate lovers should go for it - but remember, do not overeat.

Step 1: The Ingredients

You will need:
2 boxes of baby biscuits
a bowl of milk
a cake tin
a backing foil
25 dag of margarine (or even better, use butter)
25 dag of powdered sugar
25 dag of edible chocolate
a fist of blended walnuts (not necessary)
whipped cream
7 eggs.**

Step 2: The Preparation

Soak the biscuits in milk, but only for a few seconds. If longer, they will fall apart. They must remain firm.
Put the backing foil over the whole inside of the cake tin.

The filling

Melt the butter and chocolate on low heat. Add powdered sugar and mix it with a mixer. Separate the yolks from the glairs. Mix glair into snow. And than mix the yolks. Add glair to the other ingredients and mix it. Do the same with the yolks, but make sure that the cream is not warm anymore. Otherwise the yolks can poach. You can also add blended walnuts, if you like. Your mixed filling should have a nice volume.

The cake tin

Fill the inside of the cake tin with soaked biscuits, so that they cover the whole bottom. Break some biscuits in half and put them on the edge of the cake tin (the largeness should depend on the type of your cake tin) . You'll see while folding and placing them on the spot, how many will you need. Make sure they are firmly together, otherwise they could rise, while adding the filling.

Add the whole filling and put the biscuits horizontally on top. You can use the whole parts or smaller. The biscuits should cover the whole top.

Put the cake into your refrigerator over night. You do not have to bake the cake, just wait that the filling gets hard. Do not take it out of the refrigerator too soon, because it could fall apart.

Take the cake out of the refrigerator and carefully turn it, 'toss it' on the plate. Remove the backing foil and decorate the dessert with whipped cream. You can also put some fruit on the top etc.

If you will not eat the whole cake at once, make sure you put it back into the refrigerator. Otherwise it will start to melt.

Step 3: Thank You for Reading! And Bon Appetit!
