Make genuine Georgia peach cobbler with Paula Deen

Paula Deen of Get Cooking will show us how to make peach cobbler. Ingredients are as follows: 1 1/2 cup self-rising flour; 8 tablespoon or 1 stick of butter; 1/2 cup of water, 2 cups sugar, divided; 4 cups peeled sliced peaches; 1 1/2 cup milk; ground cinnamon
To remove peel from peaches, make a notch on the top with knife, drop into boiling water and let sit for 45 seconds. Then put the peaches in water that has ice to stop the cooking process. This will make the peel come up very easily. For a regular family size, use 4 cups of peaches sliced up. Put into a saucepan, add a little water and let it cook for about 10 minutes. Sprinkle one cup of sugar on the peaches as they cook. Now for the batter, you have to use self rising flour. If you don't have self rising flour, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and a couple of teaspoons of baking powder. Add a cup of sugar. Whisk the dry ingredients together. Measure out 1-1/2 cups of milk and mix into the batter with whisk. This will be cooked in a 9x9 dish oven proof dish. Melt a stick of butter in oven and pour batter into the dish. Gently lay peaches on top of the batter. When this gets put in the over the batter is going to rise up and cover the peaches. Pour the peach juice right on top of the batter. Sprinkle the top with a little cinnamon. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the center of the oven. Turn timer on. Put into dessert bowls and top with vanilla ice cream.
